(Telegraphic.) R.
No. 1,
Sir Edward Grey to Mr. Max Müller.
Foreign Office, March 29, 1910. YOUR telegram No. 50 [of 15th March.] Your proposal that His Majesty's consul at Têng-yueh should visit Lampung in order to ascertain the facts of the case is approved, provided he can proceed at once. If, however, he has to wait until after the rains, it may be advisable to consider some other course, such as that suggested in Sir J. Jordan's telegram No. 170 of 1st November, 1908.
Please ascertain Mr. Rose's views as to feasibility of early start.
